Hello, I’m Taavi
I believe that many of our core assumptions — as well as our emotional growth, wounds, and healing — are shaped through relationships. Close connections help us navigate life’s complexities. Yet relationships can also become difficult, influenced by our human differences, histories, and expertise. At times, we may find ourselves so deeply entangled in challenges that finding a way forward without external support becomes difficult.
My work is to support clarity and understanding in complex situations — whether the challenge involves family relationships, intimate partnerships, significant life transitions, or organisational dynamics.
I am a family therapist in training, working within the framework of systemic family therapy. My focus lies in understanding relational patterns, creating space for safe and meaningful dialogue, and restoring the capacity for cooperation. Rather than offering quick solutions, I aim to help create a space where people can genuinely hear and understand one another, enabling lasting and meaningful change. I work with international clients and provide therapy in English.
I believe that the resources needed for resolving difficulties already exist within individuals, couples, families, and organisations. My role is to help bring these resources into awareness and support their most effective use.
My therapeutic work is supported by nearly 30 years of experience in leadership, international business, and organisational development. I have held executive, financial, strategic, product, and digital leadership roles across international corporations, startups, and the public sector. Having originally trained in systems analysis, I have long been drawn to systems thinking, including the study of complex and adaptive systems — an interest that naturally informs both my therapeutic and consulting work.
In the international private sector, I spent over 15 years at Oracle Corporation, with responsibilities spanning regional financial leadership, operations, and partner ecosystems across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This experience deepened my understanding of multicultural teams, diverse value systems, and complex stakeholder environments.
I was also a co-founder and CEO of Kodasema (KODA by Kodasema), contributing to a period of radical innovation that brought the company to global recognition. This work provided firsthand insight into the human and organisational dimensions of transformative change. Within the public sector, I have led national-level digital development initiatives (digital construction) and worked extensively in complex, high-expectation environments. My consulting work continues to support leaders and organisations navigating change, crisis, leadership challenges, and organisational development.
Alongside my professional work, I have contributed to the non-profit and education sectors through board roles and advisory involvement, supporting initiatives related to child well-being and social impact.
I hold a degree in Economic Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology (cum laude). I am currently completing advanced stages of a five-year systemic family therapy training programme at Kiira Järve Family Therapy School, followed by supervised clinical practice.
I continue to deepen my professional development through ongoing training in both systemic therapy and leadership-related fields.
My longstanding interest in human inner worlds, meaning, and relationships is also reflected in my writing. My novel Tõeline jumalaosake received the Betti Alver Literary Award (2014), and Õnnelik prints was recognised at the Estonian Writers’ Union Novel Competition (2019). I have also published a collection of short-form reflections and poetry, and served as the editor of the first edition of the Katrin Saali Saul’s Stepfamily Handbook.
I live in a supportive partnership and a well-functioning blended family, and I am the father of three very different and remarkable daughters.
